THE DIAGNOSTIC WALK

Listening to the house

Older homes settle, causing timber to pinch and drop. We systematically inspect your woodwork, explaining the structural cause before shaving down the friction.

02 / VENTILATION

Sash Windows

We inspect sash cords, ease sticky frames, and adjust brass fasteners to eliminate drafts.

03 / STRUCTURE

Floors & Stairs

We locate structural squeaks, secure loose treads, and stabilize balustrades without invasive renovations.

FLAT-RATE SERVICE

The Walkthrough Fee

Clear workshop pricing

Our standard three-hour visit costs £320. This covers the diagnostic walkthrough, immediate adjustments to doors and windows, and a detailed timber health report for any larger repairs.

We charge one transparent flat fee for the diagnostic visit, including three hours of active on-site repairs. No hidden estimates.

We carry standard brass screws, timber shims, and traditional waxes. Any specialized hardware required is charged strictly at cost.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Walkthrough logistics

What if it takes longer?

What should I prepare?

Three hours is typically enough to adjust four doors or ease three windows. If you have more, we prioritize the worst friction first.

Just clear a path to the sticking doors or windows. We bring dust sheets, vacuum cleaners, and our own workshop tool rolls.

Do you do major refits?

Which areas do you cover?

We focus on tuning and repair. If a frame requires complete structural replacement, we provide an honest timber assessment and drawings.

We serve London and the historic home counties, specializing in Victorian, Georgian, and Edwardian residential properties.
